I am originally from Illinois, and moved to Texas in 2014. Growing up I played basketball, ran track and cross country for a little bit however I did not start boxing until my adult years. I have 1 adult son and three grandchildren.
Why I chose to be a personal trainer? So many reasons….. but here are a few. I love helping people. It’s sort of a blessing and a curse. I love helping people so much that even when they don’t want/need my help I am trying to help them (that can be annoying, right)…….that’s the curse part. I had to learn that not everyone wants help, therefore I had to learn when to step back. I love sharing my knowledge, encouraging people and most of all being right there by their side every step of the way so they don’t feel alone or afraid. (blessing part) I love exercise, I love fitness, I love the way living a healthy lifestyle makes me feel and look so why not spread the love.
I love running, I have ran one full marathon, a few half marathons and a slew of 5, 10 and 15k’s. My favorite exercise is boxing even though I know it’s a sport, I just can’t get enough. Other than that I love squats…..I’m not sure why I love them so much I think in part it may be that your legs are so much stronger than you think they are and if you just keep adding on weight your legs somehow are able to handle it, That is amazing!! So, I guess in part we are like our legs …… we are stronger than we think we are and if we could just keep pushing ourselves a little further and just at the when we think we can’t go on, we would find that we can handle more than we ever imagined.
Eating healthy, exercising, getting the right amount of sleep and doing all the other things we do in our daily lives is a constant juggle, right? So how do you fit it all in? Well, I am here to tell you that it can be done, you just have to make it a priority.
